Dream Team

The team on Santo Antão is led by Sonya. Sonya’s both parents are from Santao Antão, but she herself was born in the Netherlands, She was already known in Rotterdam as a hostess of various cultural events. After a family visit, she appeared to fall in love with the island. Her future lies here and in 2022 she started as General Manager at our beach resort, which at that time consisted only of a piece of land with a sign on it. Sonya you see everywhere and nowhere and so too during sports. No specialty, but all for fun.

Behind the scenes, Yurguen and Aldevina are active. As HR manager, Yurgen makes sure we have such sweet, enthusiastic, ambitious employees. Yurgen volunteers in sports in his spare time. You’re bound to run into him at the gym. Aldevina takes care of the financial administration. Her duties also include all the red tape, such as applying for all kinds of permits. If you see a silhouette in the early morning, Adilia’s pedometer is on its way to 10,000.

 

Although restaurant manager Adilia was born on Santo Antao, she grew up in Germany. The culture of Germany and the culture of Cape Verde are hardly similar, but rather complementary. Adilia has the best of 2 worlds. German rules and clarity in warm no-stress Cape Verde. Not an easy, but certainly a necessary combination. Adilia is someone who likes to go for a bike ride and that’s spicy on Santo Antão.

Support is provided to her by Naiss and Viviane. Naiss has more than 30 years of experience in the kitchen. As a chef, Naiss gained experience in France and on Cape Verdean Sal. He is a gourmet but can also run a large kitchen. Naiss, on the contrary, is an afternoon walker. To make sure he doesn’t lose too much weight, he does a lot of taste testing while preparing the delicious dishes.

Service is under the direction of Viviane. The still young lady from Santo Antão gained a lot of experience at Cape Verde’s Boavista. While cocktail shaking, she has an overview of almost the entire terrace and sends her guys and gals your way with filled glasses. Viviane we see before or after work in outdoor fitness.
